Add-ons not available

This is driving me Crazy! I get nothing in the 'Get Add-on' list, the repo is there but it's empty,
only after uninstalling, (including the user profile) and reinstalling I get them back... just for a while and then the list goes blank again.

I'm running XBMC 12.1 on win7 x64

add-ons installed:
NextPVR
Fanart downloader
watchdog
