No video playback in XMBC (hulu, icefilms, free cable, navi X)

I'm new here and this is my first post. I installed XBMC Frodo last night for windows (I'm running Windows 8), and everything went fine with the install. Today, I added a few add-ons, including Hulu, icefilms, free cable and Navi X. Whenever I open a file on any of these programs, I will hear about 5 seconds of audio, and the screen will freeze. In the bottom corner of XBMC, there is a logo that says "working" that will spin for a short period of time and then stop as soon as the audio stops. The video never pops up and XBMC freezes immediately after.
