My Pi will be coming in in a couple of days and i just had a few questions.
Is the Pi portable? Say I want to take the Pi to work and decide to hook up a wifi adapter to stream media. Will I need to manually edit a file within the Pi to access the WiFi and enter a password? Or is this configured through XBMC? And if so, will the XBMC remember the connection? I ask as I wouldn't want to carry the keyboard with me everytime I use it as I want to use the remote on my iPhone.
And what built should I use? I'm interested in OE over the feedback it's received. But should I use Tuxen's built or the 8gb image stickied on the forum? I just want the latest version.
And about turning it off...I've heard it's best to keep the Pi on at all time so does that I mean I should never exit XBMC? Wouldn't that affect cache?
Thank you.
Oh and one more thing. Can I use a HDMI cable with Ethernet? The one I ordered is Ethernet enabled, and I decided to hook up my desktop to my TV to try out XBMC on on the big screen in HD for the first time, and the PC ran so slow! I then switched cables to a standard HDMI and it ran normally. The cable I bought is from Amazon Basics and it's well reviewed so I doubt it's at fault.
