HDMI Audio in Frodo

I have been running Frodo for awhile perfectly fine with an integrated ATI chip and Optical Audio out. I recently upgraded to a dedicated ATI GPU to get audio over HDMI for dts and dolby HD. With this card and XBMC set to still use optical, everything still worked, just no HD audio. When I switched XMBC to use HDMI and HD formats, the video lags horribly and I get no sound. If I use Total Media Theater, my Blurays playback fine.

I have heard of audio issues with Frodo, are there any fixes or just rollback to Eden?
