The other day I did a fresh install of Debian and Frodo and for the first couple days, everything was running great. Today, I powered on my HTPC and now, starting up XBMC and navigating the menus are all very slow. It took about 20 seconds to get from the home screen to the TV menu.
I deleted my whole profile directory, and started up XBMC with only the advancedsettings.xml and Lircmap.xml but changing menus was still very slow. Moving around within a menu is responsive and playing videos is smooth. My DB is MySQL which resides on another machine on my LAN. There is a wired connection between the two and all other network traffic between the machines is normal. Thinking perhaps my MySQL instance was acting up, I installed Frodo on my laptop and connected it to the same MySQL DB and even over wireless, everything was responsive. So MySQL doesn't appear to be the culprit. While XBMC is idling at the home screen, CPU stays around 10%, so no issue there. I'm not sure why it's going so slow as it was fine yesterday and I haven't changed anything.
You can see in the debug log where I went from the home screen (19:00:28) to the TV menu and how long it took.
Any ideas?
