Best Remote to use? Harmony or something else?

So I hear the most common remote being tossed around are the Logitech Harmony remotes. I've been keeping an eye out for a 650 to go on sale for a good price but haven't seen it as of yet.

I'm just wondering if there are other remotes that work as well, or better, than the Harmony line.

I'd need a remote that can do the same types of things as the Harmony remote where I can use one remote to control my TV, stereo, XBMC, DVD player, etc. I like the "macros" where one button turns everything on, picks the right inputs, etc.

Anything else that can do all that or are the Harmony remotes the best ones to look for?
