So here's the scenario. I have my PC connected to the receiver via SPIDF. I play a movie/TV show, or anything with audio for that matter. Then, I close down XBMC. For whatever reason, other apps are not able to play audio, as there is nothing transmitted to the receiver. Typically, when the receiver is ready to receive audio or is at a given moment receiving audio, the front L and R blocks on the receiver are lit, indicating a signal. However, often after a movie finishes playing and XBMC is shut down, the indicators on the receiver show there is no audio signal from the PC. It seems that XBMC has problems releasing the audio pathway, after gaining exclusive control over it, back to Windows and other audio applications.
It's difficult to replicate the issue, as it occurs often, but not each time. I've switched from WASAPI output to using Directsound: SPDIF, and the problem persists.
Anyone else experience this?
