I'm new to the world of skinning and so I'm not very good. I had an idea fr a skin that a) I'd like to expand, and b) like some community input in.
So I was thinking about the skin as a whole and how there are lots of options that just don't need to be visible for the average media centre user, (files, addons, menus, and the like). It's not that I don't see the value of those options, its more that I believe they can be displayed in afar less obvious manner.
So on the front screen you have a series of tiles, Movies, Music, programs, pictures, settings. Sub menus are limited to functionality for the particular category, so for music you'd have play random song, party mode, and the like. What you wouldn't have are options to see the files or addons.
What I'd like to be able to do is incorporate the various addons into the media categories. For example, in Movies you'd have your movies at the top on a shelf like strip. You pause on one and the synopses fades down. Below this, you'd have The various options from 1channel.ch like the top 10 or something like that.
I'm sure you can use your imagination to work out the other sections of the skin, Music, Pictures, et al.
I'd really like to hear your thoughts.
