Method for Adding Custom File Description

Hello! Noob to XBMC here!

I've been using Mediaportal and got used to using the Ant Movie Catalog to add custom descriptions to my home videos (these are the descriptions that appear on the screen when you select the item inside the media program). It seems that a scraper, if I'm using that term right, isn't available for Ant at the moment.

Are there any favorite methods that people use to get such custom descriptions to appear inside XBMC? The nfo file method seems a little work intensive if I have to do it all by hand, what with all the markup it seems to take for each file. I'm using Frodo Beta 1 repack, BTW.
