I have been looking and trying for over 4 days now and I still have problems with audio.
I have a stand alone pc.
It has an Asus A8n sli deluxe motherboard with a coaxial digital output. The receiver is connected through this output. (atm it is my logitech z5500 thx set, but it will be an Onkyo receiver)
I have now installed the latest 11.9 xbmcbuntu build. Since I have done this I have analog sound. So everything 2 channel plays just fine. But when I play a movie (with DTS or Dolby surround) I have no audio. Before (with openelec and xbmcbuntu builds - stable - I could get no sound at all).
My settings atm are:
audio output: optical/coax
speaker config: 2.0 (read somewhere that you have to put it on 2.0, but putting it at 5.1 doesn't work either)
boost volume level on downmix (on)
dolby digital (on)
dts capable receiver (on)
aac capable receiver (off) -> i don't know if my receiver can do this (i think it can but it was standard off)
audio output device: default (nvidea ck804.....)
passthrough: nvidea CK804 - IEC958 SPDIF (I can't change anything here?)
I have sound in the menu and everything not 5.1 (music, youtube etc)
Anyone who can help me out here? I don't want to throw the towel just yet but I'm getting really tired![Sad]( "Sad")
