I'm trying to increas the cache via the advancedsettings xml file and it seems that nothing happens. I've tried several different sizes and xbmc.exe doesn't seem to take up any more RAM than without cache. when i press "o" to get current information on dataflow etc it says cache: 0 in the second to last row which starts with a 'C'
This is my advancedsettings.xml file that's located in C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\
I've restarted the xbmc application between my tries. I'm sadly running 32-bit Vista on this computer and only a 100mbit network card, which is the soul reason to why I want to increase cache, a couple of times during heavy duty movies the playback halts to buffer up.
When I start a video it doesn't wait but starts instantly, doesn't seem to be buffering anything. my media is shared through samba on a FreeNAS 8.2 server, I don't have problems on other xbmc installations on the same network which runs gigabit NIC's
