Is It possible to switch from eden to frodo AND mantain two different MySql DBs?

Hello,
the subject says it all ^^
I've two installations wich share a MySql DB. Now i'm willing to try and switch to frodo, but the problem is, I'm willing, my family doesn't... they just want to watch stuff.

So, what i'm asking is: if i upgrade my personal build, can i still mantain the old db for the rest of us?Will frodo create a new DB or upgrade the existing one?
