Hi, I've just built a PC with the following specs:
Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz Socket 1155 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor

Asus P8Z77-V Socket 1155 VGA DVI DisplayPort HDMI 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

G.Skill 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory

I'm running Windows 7 and its connected to a HDTV but when playing a HD x264 video in XBMC 11.0 it looks like there is some weird image processing going on and I can't figure out what's causing it. The video playback appears grainy and it looks like it's blending the graininess together which is especially noticeable on people skin tones. It more noticeable on some videos than others and its very apparent when playing Star Trek TNG for example.
I've got a Raspberry Pi that I was using for a few months before I built my PC and that didn't have these problems, it played the file fine without any weird processing and my TV will also play the same video file perfectly if I put it on a HDD and plug it into the TVs USB port. I can even switch between VLC and XBMC playing the same file and see a difference.
I've gone through all the settings in XBMC and all the Graphics Properties settings on my PC but I can't find a way to clear this up. I've been using XBMC since the xbox days, installed it on a QuadCore AMD system and an i3 laptop in the past and never experienced this problem. It seems a little weird that a Raspberry Pi gives me a better image than an i7?!?
Could anyone else with the same processor/motherboard tell me how they got XBMC to playback video without any weird image processing going on?
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
