v18 - conditional variable doesn't seem to work correctly for ListItem.Year

I am new to skinning but am having some success, today i ran into an issue using a variable with conditions. I wanted to display the ListItem.Year with a bracket either side if ListItem.Year is not empty. But for some reason I get the brackets with no characters between (so ListItem.Year appears empty). I have found a different way to make it work but am wondering why it didn't work. I thought I'd ask the question as I don't know if it's just me doing something stupid or if it's not supported or a bug.

I am running kodi v18 beta 3 compiled on 25/9/18 on a mac.=12pt 

this works

Guide artwork with TVHeadend and Schedules Direct?

Hi,

I've been testing some backend PVR options for Kodi. For a few reasons, TVHeadend is my favorite option.

I have a question regarding the EPG. When using Kodi+NextPVR, in the TV Guide I get artwork for shows in the bottom left corner, like this : http://prntscr.com/l2sspy

When using TVHeadend, I don't have these artwork. It's nothing critical, but I think it looks nicer. Is there a way to get these to work?

v18 - nVidia Shield TV - Kodi 18 beta 3 - Screensaver

Hello

I'm currently running the new beta 3 version of Kodi 18 but have come across an issue with the Android TV screen saver and Kodi.  I only use Kodi for TV using the TVheadend PVR plugin and it works really well from that perspective, however when ever I pause the stream and with the Kodi Screensaver set, the android tv screensaver kicks in and drops me out of Kodi on resume thus messing up the stream etc.  Kodi v17 has this issue but the previous beta's appeared fine as well as the alpha so I think this is a beta 3 issue.

Does anybody else suffer from this and if not, what are you screensaver settings?  I need screensaver as I use a Plasma TV and so trying to avoid significant screen burn.

How to get KODI 17.6 working with HD homerun HDHR3-DT

Hi all,
        New to Kodi.

I have a HD Homerun HDHR3-DT, which I have previously used with Windows media centre.

I have grabbed the Kodi add-on - and found it doesn't work and is not supported as per https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:HDHomeRun

I have tried HDHomeRun simple as well - with no success. Searching this forum for HDHR3-DT yielded no results... so hence my post here.

Is there a way to get this older tuner working with Kodi ?

Bug - disable windows history

Hello,

I'm using the ActivateWindow to manage my Windows navigation, but, like for Pictures, when I go to a picture forlder then I'm pressing Back key on my keyboard, I come back to the home page and so if I select again Picture, Kodi point to the last pictures folder open, not to the main one. My action is like ActivateWindow(Pictures,"C:\Users\Pics\",return).

Any ideas ?

edit the sort by in tv channels

Hi guys,

I want to make a drop list for sort by and channels group in IPTV channels menu I looked to it and I found the button is for ID=3 and 28 for group channels.

My question I want to make something like sub-menus with onclick on sort by name, number and so on.

I couldn't find the way to do it.

I made the grouplist for it but I couldn't find the way to give action under <onclick> ?

How to ajust audio equaliser settings that are specific to individual files?

How can I apply sound equaliser or channel volume levels (in multichannel audio/video) to individuall movie or music song/album files? Further I would also like these settings to persist/be retained once applied.

Scraper not working (error 401)

Hi,

for beggining, excuse me for my english level.

I use Kodi Krypton with my OC2 Box (LibreElec). I've got metadata.themoviedb.org in version 5.1.3.

The scrapper are not working now. When i check the log file ".kodi/temp/kodi.log", i've got error 401.
I try new version of metadata.themoviedb.org 5.1.4 but the result is the same.

i can't see , each time i try to edit i get the massage:
RssFeeds.xml
 rssfeeds.xml was either not founr in the system, or does not cotain parsable XML.
try deleting it from your userdata folder and restarting XMBC.
to delet it?
what to do next?

Hi. Hope someone can help me with my issue.
I deleted kodi 17.6 from my computer. It ask me if i also wanted to delete some files and I said yes. Not knowing or thinking that it would delete all my files that was in that folder on my computer. I have also reinstall kodi 17.6 
How do I get back my movies that I had downloaded from kodi. I ran a program to find any deleted files on my computer, but these movies wasnt anywhere on  my computer

Exclude folders from picture slide shows?

Hi Forum,

the <pictureexcludes> entry in advancedsettings.xml allows for excluding individual files and folders from being displayed in the pictures section. However, this feature does not seem to affect slideshows ("recursive slideshow" which you can choose from a folder's context menu): All files and folders are being displayed in a slideshow. Is there any setting to exclude files or folders from folder recursive slideshows?

Season Name - futur feature ?

Hi,

With version 18 of Kodi "Leia" the tag "<namedseason number="1"></namedseason>" must allow to specify the name of season (i've tried with nightly version, it's ok).

I think this tag is very handy, especially for anime collection management.

Is it planned to be integrated in future versions of TMM ? (with the current version, I can only modify the image of the season, not the name)

Request - disable nfo writing for tv series

Hello

I use both Kodi and an other media center software.
This other software gets confused by the nfo file written.
Could there be an option so I just get the pictures and the renaming, but no nfo file?

v18 - beta3 does not shut down properly

Hi,

we are using this Kodi18 Beta version for some time now. The operating system is Raspbian Stretch lite.
If Kodi is running and we will exit the application normally, Kodi will shut down the gui and the screen does turn black without comming back to the console directly.
If we check with htop the running processes, there are still some kodi processes running (something with 'lirc').
Clearly this comes up when we reboot the raspberry pi. The shut down process stopps and state something like:
'a job for kodi is running'.
After 1,5 Minutes the shut down process is going further and the machine will restart normal.

This behaviour is here since installation of Kodi 18 - even in a clean install without any add on.

Nothing seroius, but i think not to hard to solve bevore releasing the official Kodi 18.

Another point here: We are starting and stopping Kodi as a service, because the Raspberry is running 24/7 and we want to turn on and turn off Kodi via SSH commands.

WMC not downloading guide

Thought I'd see if anyone else is having WMC guide issues lately.  Didn't change anything in the server setup, been stable for months.  all of a sudden (last few days), guide data isn't getting downloaded on the media center server.  Have rebooted, manually kicked off download of updated guide (never notifies me it's complete), nothing seems to be working.  This is a windows 7 WMC server, verizon Fios cable service (philadelphia, US), HDHomerun cable cards.  live tv works fine, recordings play fine, just no guide data being downloaded.

Any advise?  Other places to look?  Other forums?

I have tried and tried, with several different PCs and mobile devices, from different networks - but I finally had to create a new account.

Why?

Because logging in with google's infamous "reCaptcha" simply is a nightmare. 
Let's not talk about this shitty thing taking AGES of your time until it finally gives in.
Let's not talk about all this photo-icon-stuff is far from being clear (do "poles" count as part of "signs" or "traffic lights"? how many pixels of a certain object in such an icon make it valid? etc.)

Let's just talk about it being completely intransparent whether you did it right (finally), or why it's (again) not working. 

I don't know how many times I have requesed a new password copy&pasted it to the login-form, struggled with the notorious "reCaptcha" until it showed a green mark - and STILL got denied with "wrong username or password". With 10000000000% correct credentials, of course.


This shitty recaptcha is keeping me off many service, incl. sony's webservice, so I even can't register my TV, let alone asking for support...


But here? This is a forum where we complain about OTHERS doing their best to make their products unusable (looking at sony) - using the most effective method in the WWW to keep humans out - HERE! - is really pissing me off!

Sony ZD9: Kodi 17.6 is running 1920x1080 only

As a 3D-enthusiast I have gotten my hands on one of the last Sony 65ZD9 lately, moving my beloved Sony 47W805 to the bedroom.

I was not expecting too much from Sony's Android-TV-implementation, but since I was using an old PC as HTPC (capable of running Guitar-Hero and Rocksmith) I didn't think I would get any problems until I get some 4k-media (which I have by now) - the old PC is not capable of playing 4k, and the PC-industry is obviously not seeing a market for low-budget-video-cards. 

But I was completely SHOCKED to see what an official Kodi running natively on the ZD9 can do - or better: can NOT do. 

Major problem: it's running 1920x1080. Everything, not only the UI. 4k-media is played in 1920x1080/60p
Next (kown) problem is, that the "Action menu" stops the playback. There seems to be some workaround, and I read that Kodi 18 will solve this - but... oh well. 
BIG problem: Kodi running on the ZD9 is disabling the 3D-capabilities of the TV! That seems to be a Android-problem, see below.

So I have a 4K-HDR-3D-TV running an operating-system which allows me to run kodi natively - which disables ALL major features. Great!

I have read up on these problems, finding out that it's probably all Sony's fault. Oh well. 
Upgrading the Windows-PC to full-UHD-capability would require a total GPU-overkill - a nVidia 1080, just for playing video reliably.
At least I can switch to 3D when using the Windows-Kodi.

So I got myself a 50€-S912-Android-TV-box, which should be capable of playing 4k/60 and 3D without problems. Found out that it's VERY laggy using kodi, AND the Sony-TV still refuses to enable 3D-functionality. Weird. 

Since my chosen 2/16GB-variant seemed to be too limited anyways I got myself another S912-box with 3/32GB. Same problem (plus it overheated quickly and seems to be defective by now).

What's the problem here? 
The old Non-Android-Sony from the W8-series is happily auto-switching to 3D whenever I play a 3D-movie with kodi, no matter which hardware I use (nVidia-ION-HTPC with Windows or Linux, "big" Windows-10-PC of any kind, both S912-Android-boxes), but the "flagship" ZD9 is denying the 3D-function in all configurations except Kodi on Windows-PC (which can't play 4k).

Anyony knows how to get 3D working, using an android-TV-box? 

Right now I am considering a J3455-based Intel-NUK, but so far it all seems like throwing money in the wind for nothing.

9anime addon (kodibae repo) not working

Hi everyone, as the title implies, the 9anime addon isn't working. Whenever I try to access a folder inside the addon or use the search function, it starts loading for a second, then an error notification comes up saying "9anime error - check the log for more information"

Here's the log

This might be because the "9anime.is" domain isn't renewed and therefore the site doesn't exist, but 9anime.ru and 9anime.to are still usable. I'm not sure if this is causing the problem, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kodi iphone remote can not find Kodi every time I leave and rejoin wifi

Hi There

Hope someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance.

I am only a new Kodi user and already really really love what it can do. I have an old Microsoft surface tablet running windows 10, with which I installed the Kodi 17.6. The Kodi on the windows 10 works very well in terms of playing YouTube videos, and films and music stored on my local network NAS, everything I need.

I installed a few Kodi remote apps on my iphone 7, Sybu Kodi and two others, so that I could sit back and control every from the sofa (maybe not good for me)

I think I have done the correct configurations with the Kodi on Windows 10, because The Kodi remote iphone apps can connect to it and control everything well, but the problem is that every time I leave the wifi network when I leave home and the. come back and rejoin the wifi, my iphone Kodi remote app could not find the Kodi server on the windows 10 anymore. The Kodi on windows 10 has been kept on all this time, so it seems to be the leaving and rejoining the wifi network made the difference.

I tried a few times, and the results were the same. The only way I can reconnect the iphone Kodi remote to the Kodi on windows 10 is to restart the Kodi on windows 10. And this worked every time.

I plan to connect the Kodi to my TV and leave it on all the time, so this setup could work as a HTPC or smart TV that is always on standby, so if I have to restart the Kodi every time when I want to remote control it, it really defect the purpose.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? Could someone help me?
