Hi,

I recently installed the new XBMC 13 in a PC with Windows. I imported my films and TV Shows, and after loading info of the most, this error appeared:

I press "Yes" some times, but it appeared repeatedly and finally I pressed "No".

Now, every time I start XBMC, after one minute or less the same error appears. How can I avoid it Confused

I've the option that scans the library every startup activated and I need it...

I imagine it's all about a connection problem with the "Filmaffinty Movie Scraper" and some of the videos, but can it simply ignore these videos?

Every time I start the XBMC, after a minute or so, I can see many popups appearing and disappearing fast on the screen. It's very annoying because it can appear when I started to see a movie or something.

I've the option "Hide progress of library updates" activated, and I didn't added any new song to the library.

Hi,

Im not sure if im doing something wrong.

I want to convert a 3d Bluray to Full SBS

In DVDFab I select left/right 100%

and I end up with an MKV which is 3840x1080 - as I would expect

the issue is that when XBMC displays this on screen (it does recognise form the filename that its a 3d movie and prompts me to if I want it in SBS) , its resizing it to fit within the 1080p output of the PC, which means that the video is only half the height its supposed to be

(when I flip the TV in SBS mode it is the correct width again, but the aspect ratio is 50% off)

whats the best advice to fix this? (I have a bunch of Blurays to rip so want to come up with the best / most future proof method of doing it - hence wanting full SBS rather than half)

does anyone know a ppa that has the new XBMC 13.0 stable for old Ubuntu 10.4 "lucid" ?

the nathan-renniewaldock had still had nightlies for lucd till Feb 2014 but seems to have stopped compiling for lucid.

Any other pointers ?

I have tried building from source but there are lots of Problems getting it to compile on 10.4

Love your serverwmc tool

I'm having a problem.. I use a local store for guide images using http://sourceforge.net/projects/epgcollector/ as my guide image importer to windows mce

I keep getting these issues. and because of this i don't think the guide images are being loaded.

Hey guys,

I use both ALSA and PulseAudio on my Ubuntu 14.04/Gotham 13 htpc (steam BPM 'just works' with PA) and am start/stopping PA as required, generally xbmc only uses ALSA but occasionally I will run xbmc with PA running (because of Steam bpm's 'return to desktop' option) and PA is detected and used by xbmc with no user input. The thing is that next time I run xbmc without PA running xbmc automatically selects the first audio device, which results in no sound as the 2nd device is what is connected. After manually changing xbmc to use the connected ALSA device everything works great. On a fresh install of a late OE 4 beta the first device is selected aswell.

So does any one know of a way I can have xbmc use a specific ALSA device when not using PA after running xbmc with PA? Can I achieve this via a a default device in ~/.asoundrc? I could probably use a script to check if pa is running and what device xbmc is using, but that seems kinda clunky. Also I could maybe change my cabling so its connected to the first device, but this isn't a method that could work across multiple machines. Or can I disable all unused devices at a system level?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

When I insert a USB flash drive containing some music, it automatically is recognized by XBMC, and it shows up in Music > Files. But it does not show up in the XBMC Remove iOS app. There I only see the folders which have been added as sources. I'd love for this to be fixed because I run XBMC headless sometimes.
In the other views of the iOS app (albums and artists), you can drag down to update the list. It seems like we should add that same feature to the files tab, to search for new sources.

What kind of dumb error message is that anyway?

Nothing to help troubleshoot, nothing to make life easier to figure this thing out?

Confluence Hebrew Skin Subtitles in Gotham

I have a question today about ListItem.Label/Label2
The Wiki said that ListItem.Label/Label2 shows left/right label of the currently selected item in a list or thumb control.
What does left and right label mean in the context of thumb controls?

At the first read, I interpreted it as a second label that can be filled with static content.

I want to display:

I loved XBMC but some time back I found it messed up the folder structure and there seemed no way to fix it.

I have multiple TV series and multiple self categorised movie folders, for example, Action Thriller, inside this folder are individual movie folders, in TV for example, Angel, and inside this is a folder for each season.

Media portal has a standard video folder for movies to sit in, each are in the groups I defined, and there is a nice TV addon that sortes all the TV stuff out for me

XBMC appears to have nothing like this?

When scraping movies and trying to get posters and fanart, I get some errors like:

An Error Has Occurred: HTTP Error
An Error Has Occurred: An Object Reference has not been set to an instance of an object

Any ideas? Is there a debug log somewhere I can post?

[SOLVED] Lirc & HP MCE Remote - Missed Keypresses

I'm using Ubmcbuntu 12.10 LTS version with Gotham 13.1 beta 1 but have had this issue since I installed it and was using XBMC 12.x. Quite simply the recognition of button presses is flaky, I'd say maybe about 30% of the time a button will not register.

Running irw shows nothing when the button isn't registered.
The light on the IR receiver always comes on when I hit a button so something is registering.
When I run mode2, I always get some output for every button press, it seems not to be entirely consistent though, I think a very brief button press sometimes gets cut short but some of my missed button presses are not short
Receiver and remote are HP (or at least branded as such - eBay purchase so who knows!), receiver is listed as "Feature Integration Technology Inc. (Fintek) F71610A or F71612A Consumer Infrared Receiver/Transceiver" which matches the manufacturer discussed on the HP forums.

Any clues as to wether there is something I can tweak or look at? I wanted to swap the IR receiver, I have a dirt cheap Chaplet Systems one but when plugged in XMBC just acts like the left or right button is held down and it just runs through the menus and can't be stopped (nothing in the log though) so not much luck there.
Happy to try wiping and installing XBMCbuntu 13 if anyone really thinks it will help.
Could well be that the remote/receiver is just junk, if this is a known issue then again I'm happy to dump them, but would appreciate suggestions for a pretty short / compact remote that works well.

Other suggestions welcome.

I spent a lot of time looking before posting but as is always the way, I found the solution myself soon after, namely ditch Lirc, use the kernel modules and inputlirc instead - http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...#Inputlirc Only been testing for 5 mins but it is definitely a LOT better.

Would like to pick up another box for xbmc. I have an atv 1 and 2. I like them. Some times they seem to be a little sluggish. Are these MX boxes good? Just want XBMC, dont care about android games. Are the MX2 boxes a lot better than the MX boxes.

I made some tests, and I have conclusion. XBMC crashes when trying to play video with VP6(f) media codec, here you have few logs.
I tried Gotham 13.0 and 13.1beta1. (On 12.3 there is audio stuttering)

That is VP6f stream with HW acceleration (app crashes):

note: if you want to use development versions of T! you need to run a very recent nightly build of xbmc.

general info:
the development version of Transparency! is available @ T! GIT

why would i use a development version of this skin
most important reason...because i need people to test things before i update the skin in the addon repo.
and second...you get to use all the new features first. :-)

the development version gets updated a few times every week (time permitted)
and only after things have been tested thoroughly, changes will be added to the addon repo.
it can take anywhere between a week to a month before new features will be copied from the development version to the addon repo version.

so what's new?
- settings changes

please test and report issues concerning all the new features in the skin!

disclaimer:

if you want to use the development version of T! you better make sure you'll also run a very recent nightly build of xbmc.
do not install the T! development version on top of your existing Transparency! skin.
do not keep two copies of T! in your addons directory, so delete the stable version of Transparency! first.
third-party builds (passionxbmc.org) of Transparency! are not supported by me!

So a friend of mine said that he is going to be traveling and would like for me to house sit while he is away. I am like all jittery being away from my HTPC setup for that long. So I am contemplating taking my intel NUC with me to his house to use there.

One of the things that is making me think is remote access to my synology nas from xbmc while I am at his place. Is this possible? Are there apps available somewhere that I can use to access my media remotely?
